Vienna weekend getaway - our hotel

Hallo again! *enthusiastically waves*

The fact that I am writing this post is telling you that I've finally moved and that I am ready to blog again. It's been exhausting and I've given as much stuff away as I've packed into boxes but it's DONE now!

As a little reward I decided to go on a weekend getaway to my favourite city in Europe, Vienna. I went together with my twin sister by car as I am currently living in Bavaria and Vienna is not really far away (about five hours by car).

 {shortly after we crossed the German/Austrian border}

 {stunning view from the motorway}

 {Austrian radio station}

 {It's getting dark really early now.}

{first impression of Vienna by night, right after we drove past the Steffl}

We stayed at the Mercure Wien City Hotel in the second district and booked a non-smoking Privilege Room on the seventh floor. Since it doesn't get any higher than that nobody walks on your head. :) We decided against breakfast at the hotel to be able to have breakfast at a traditional Viennese Coffee House. The hotel itself is very modern and nice. I really liked the room but not so much [read: loathed] their basement car park. They do have two. When you're in front of the two gates don't ever choose the left one, always go for the right one. The left one is horrible. You drive down a very steep and narrow path to find yourself in a small garage with SUV's parking on carports for smarts or even better on barred areas. Long story short: We had to wait for another car to leave the garage to be able to turn around and get out (hours later). The hotel stuff isn't helpful since it's totally unknown which car belongs to which guest. Not good.
Would I recommend the hotel? YES. The carpark? NO.

Our lovely room. <3

 {One can never have enough pillows nor chocolate on the pillows.}

 {bathroom with a little rubber duck}

{love that idea}

 {mine for the weekend}

{view from our window}

 {same view, next morning}

 {I highly recommend the David Beckham for H&M tank tops}

{opposite the bed}

 {room-service on the first evening, highly needed after the carpark drama}

 {Here's to a fabulous weekend!}

We jumped into bed early to get up fresh and bright the next morning and make the most of our stay.
Stay tuned to see what the rest of our weekend was like, including exhibitions, mulled wine and some shopping! Woot!

Sleep tight and see you soon!
