Products I've used up #1 - Perfume Edition

As you all might know I LOVE perfume. I adore the pretty bottles and all the amazing fragrances. But there is the possibility that I accumulated too many different perfumes in the past. Don't get me wrong, I really like every single scent I bought, but - unlike wine - perfume doesn't get better with age. Therefore I set myself a goal at the beginning of 2012: I would like to finish this year with less bottles of perfume than I started it with. So far, I guess I did quite well. To motivate myself I decided to document my progress. Here we go.

* Moschino Cheap and Chic EdT - a quite fresh (a bit of citrus in my oppinion) and flowery scent, a very nice every day fragrance
* Rochas Alchemie EdP - super elegant and definitely an evening scent
* Elizabeth Arden Sun EdT - I don't know how, but it smells like summer, perhaps since I associate it with sun screen (the good smelling ones).
* Vanderbilt Vanderbilt EdT - I always think "old women perfume" when I smell it on its own, but mixed with a kind of fruity scent like Jimmy Choo it turns out really nice. Yes, you got me, I mix perfumes, I do, often.
* Giorgio Beverly Hills So You EdT - nice bottle, nice scent (and I mean nice in a positive way, not nice like in "quite ok")
* Pimkie iLove EdT - That was an impulse purchase, I don't regret it but the smell just doesn't linger - or at least it doesn't on me.

Alchemie by Rochas and Moschino Cheap & Chic are the only ones I would repurchase any time soon - given the fact that I have so many other perfumes waiting to be used! :)

See, how the Moschino bottle is inspired by Olivia? So cute!

Alright, I'm going to dig into my archives and sort out the next bottles to be used (up). I feel a La Perla and Calvin Klein perfume coming up ... we'll see ...

Thank you all for reading and have a great evening!

Zum Alten Zollhaus in Forchheim / Franconia / Germany

About three weeks ago I went home because of a rather unfortunate emergency but as things calmed down we managed to squeeze in a brunch at the restaurant Zum Alten Zollhaus in Forchheim. Do you remember my post titled My last days of 2011? The pictures of Boxing Day were also taken at this wonderful restaurant. Their brunch is famous, you will have to book a table in advance since those Sundays are very popular and tables are gone fast, but it's so worth it!

 {You're always greeted with an aperitive.}

 {various antipasti, delicious Italian prosciutto, fine Chinese noodle salad, fluffy curry mousse, crayfish cocktail, incredible prime boiled beef brawn, chutney of radishes, cranberry jelly}

 {roast beef, bratwurst}

 {coffee and orange juice are complimentary}

 {gilthead with ramson crust, delicious!}

 {Prosecco with pieplant and lime juice - have to copy at home as soon as possible!}

 {cappuccino}

{dresscode: opal ear studs and Ray Bans}

Have a great week and thank you for reading!

On the grill

As the weather was unbelievingly hot about two weeks ago we spent most of our days in the garden and threw together an impromptu garden party. Here are a few impressions of this wonderful evening! I only managed to snap a few photos since we didn't start grilling until 9 p.m. and then the light was diminishing quickly. Anyways, here you go!

 {ready to go on the grill}

 {bell peppers, tomatoes, halloumi, and delicious king oyster mushrooms}

 {Don't forget the freshly ground pepper and of course rosemary and thyme from your garden! - It doesn't get any better than that!}

 {pears and ham with a herbal crust to complete a perfectly relaxed evening}

{Aperol Spritz according to my sister's recipe - HEAVEN IN A GLASS - picture taken at approximately 11 p.m. with ghastly flash}

So, please, may I have the good weather back? That would be so nice!
Thanks everybody for reading and have a good week!

ichi-san in Bamberg / Franconia / Germany

Well, HALLO again! *waves*
I know it's been a long time since my last post and I haven't decided yet whether I should share all the circumstances here on my blog with you - we'll see!

Last week we had a period of hot weather and everybody seemed to go crazy because of the major difference in temperature compared to the week before. From 12 °C to 34 °C in two days, that's just great, isn't it? One evening we - meaning my twin sister, a very dear friend, and I - went to a relatively new Japanese restaurant in Bamberg which is called ichi-san. We ate our way through their starters and their sushi menu. As I fortunately remembered to snap a few pictures I thought I would let them do the talking.

{gorgeous sunset on our way to the restaurant - and my first try ever on an animated .gif}

starters - including edamame and gyoza

the amazing sushi

My favourites were the spicy tuna rolls, the ones with salmon and mango, and the ones with prawn and arugula - so good! In my opinion the most important thing regarding sushi is fresh fish, nobody wants food poisoning. But be assured ichi-san has very fresh and delicious fish! :)

matcha ice cream for dessert

I highly recommend paying them a visit if you should happen to be in Bamberg. And don't forget to take a stroll through the city, a big part of the movie The Three Musketeers was filmed in Bamberg! You don't know it? Go watch it, it has Christoph Waltz and Luke Evans and Matthew Macfadyen and Mads Mikkelsen in it! See? You NEED to watch it!

Have a great Sunday evening and hopefully see you all soon!
